Beach Mystery Legs

There is nothing more appealing to a man than a beautiful set of legs. I am often asked about whether legs should be covered or not, whether hosed is better than bare.

The answer clearly depends on context, for who would

wear hose to the beach? Nothing comes as surprise in beautiful Italy, the country of stunning women and world class fashion.

While on a Tour of Italy in July of 2004, I found an extraordinary number of woman on a beach near Rimini wearing footless pantyhose under their bikinis. The intent was clear. These gave their wearers extra shape, silkiness and an aura of mystery. The hose glimmered in the sunshine and caused the ladies to shine as well. The effect was extraordinary and they knew

it. I enjoyed the scenery with my husband over a glass of chilled white Pinot Grigio.

I don't always wear hose, but when I'm at the beach in Rimini, I wear Philippe Matignon 8 Vita Bassa (low waist) under my bikini.

What is Denier

Noun A unit of weight by which the fineness of silk, rayon, or nylon yarn is measured, equal to the weight in grams of 9000 meters of the yarn. It is often used to describe the thickness of hosiery.

Thus a hose of 30 den (denier) is made of yarn, 9 kilometers of which just 30 grams.

Clearly, then, the smaller the denier of a pair of hose,

the lighter and more airborne that hose is. That translates into more transparency too.

Most 'regular' sheer hosiery available in retail stores is in the 15-20 Denier range, which is in many cases not even mentioned on the package. There is no such thing as perfect sheerness, as each grade of sheerness is a combination of advantages and drawbacks. The consumer's final choice will depend on individual preferences and priorities: an opaque product will be able to cover irregularities of the skin, it is very durable and has a somewhat better warming effect than a sheer product, but it does not provide the same soft feeling and the sensational look of sheer hosiery. On the other hand a great looking skin can

be tremendeously enhanced by the cosmetic touch of sheer hosiery, with a phantastic range of shades and a sensational feeling – but it breaks easier and has less warming effect the sheerer it gets. Ultrasheer luxury hosiery is not much different from luxury cosmetics: expect to wear it once only and a new one next time – and consider it a bonus if due to proper care and perhaps some good luck you may be able to wear it more than once! If you expect ultasheer hosiery to last you will be disappointed, and you should be very careful (in fact we recommend you wear rubber gloves) when you put it on, so your finger nails, toe nails or any other sharp objects do not accidentally damage it – and a damage can not be repaired.

For everyday use and to be used more than just once, 15-20 Denier is perfectly OK. It looks good, feels good and lasts reasonably well. Thinner hosiery is doubtless more spectacular in any respect, but apart from not lasting very long it is also much more expensive, which is not appreciated by average consumers. Different Finishes When you look at the packaging of tights you will find a variety of different terms used to describe what the finish is, for example; shiny, slight sheen, gloss, matt, shimmer…. We found this confusing, therefore we have examined all the products

that we sell at MyTights and put them all into one of the four categories below going from matte tights to the most shiny tights, which makes it simpler to know what you are buying as well as making it much easier to compare one product against another!

o Matte Matte tights are, as you would expect, completely matt with no shine whatsoever! Matte tights are both understated and flattering, plus they wont draw too much attention to your legs as they give a completely flat look on your leg. Matte opaques are a particular favourite at MyTights as well

as with the press.

o Slight Sheen Hosiery with a Slight sheen has just a hint of shine rather than being completely matt. The slight sheen will give a softer outline to your legs as they do not give such a flat appearance as matt tights. Suitable for every day and very elegant for the evening, particularly in sheer styles.

o Shiny Shiny hosiery has an obvious shine to it and very much catches the light. Shiny hosiery also feels smooth and silky on your legs. Great for special occasions, but can also be worn everyday. Shiny hosiery will draw even more

attention to your legs as the light reflects off the hosiery, defining the shape of your legs. Shiny tights aren't great if you want to go for the 'bare leg look' or don't want to draw too much attention to your legs!

o Very Shiny Very shiny is how we describe products such as Wet Look and other hosiery that is very glossy. Similar to shiny hosiery items but even glossier! Very shiny tights will reflect the light, drawing attention to your legs. Veryshiny hosiery will also highlight your legs and make them stand out.

Inside Out

As most things, hose have an inside and an outside. We are working on a new line, the Moebius Experience,

for which the inside is the outside!

But normal hose have an inside that hugs the legs and an outside that is exposed. I, have often times been asked, why the inside is softer than the outside: 'The inside is meant to hug your legs

and to keep your hose from slipping …' is the answer I give '… and soft grabs better'.

When it is cooler and I retire to bed, it is usually when my husband has already warmed it. Then is the time to cast away your PJs or Long

Johns and wear your hose inside out instead. Because then the softness of the inside grabs his legs and delights him.

These hose are magnificent; they are sheer waist to toe, have double, flat seams,

a wide and comfortable waistband, a cotton gusset and are made of soft lycra yarns.

I like wearing these when the season changes to cooler; they are very sheer, yet thick enough to keep me warm, under

trouser or skirt.

When it is cold outside, I slip on a pair, as I would a pair of long johns, under my jogging sweats. Not only do they keep me warm, but they massage my legs as I run.

I don't

always wear hose, but when I do I prefer Oroblu Sensuel 30 in cooler weather. Keep your legs warm, my friends.

Working Out

To atone my figure, I work out three times a week in a local studio. There I get the diversion I need

that allows me to blossom at work.

I often wear Tonic hose under my Training Knee Pant or shorts for extra compression and soothing. You have no choice to but to wear a pair of Sheer to Waist hose of a light natural color. But among those,

there is an infinite variety.

When working out, choose a higher denier hose for the extra strength, but a hose with some amount of compression will make your legs look shapely, will give you them a massage while you work and help circulation.

I don't always wear hose, but when I work out, I like Golden Lady Tonic 50 and Golden Lady Tonic 70.
